Volume 2 Issue 2

First team roundup

Since the last issue of the post the firsts have played eight games the highlight being the win against Bridgnorth. Perkins chased a score of 229 and got it, a great all round performance by the first s resulted in 17 points. Most of the other games have been Losing Draws apart from the games against Wroxeter and Shrewsbury where we seemed to let ourselves down, not playing to our potentials. So far this season the firsts have scored a total of 1597 runs and took a total of 50 wickets. I would like to tell you how many catches we’d taken but then I’m getting into the realms of Danny Hough (statto). I can point out some good performances by certain people :- Matt Boswell 45 off 18 balls against Newport, JohnLeah who got 37 in the same game. Mal Serplett who got 58 against Oswestry, Adam

Shantry with figures of 3 for 31 and John Leah 3 for 41 both against Shifnal. Mal Serplett 47 and Mo Arif 41 and in the same game John Leah 3 for 61 with the ball against Bridgnorth. Finally against Whitchurch Mal Serplett 62, Mo Arif 45 and John Leah 48 all got runs and with the ball Matt Jones 3 for 21 and Garry Williams 3 for 21. All scores can be found at www.perkinscc.co.uk

Second team roundup

Attached to the back of the post is a more in depth report on some of these games. The second team seem to be having an inconsistent season like the first team, they seem to either hammer sides or get hammered themselves. They stuttered against Whitchurch with Guy Johnson bowling them to victory with superb figures of 6 for 31 backed up by Imran Arif with figures of 2 for 35.Wroxeter proved too big a challenge but performances by Mike Griffiths 3 for 36 and Andy Dunkerley 63 were plus points. Then Shane Gwilt destroyed Shifnal with 9 for 32 and with figures of 4 for 39 on the Sunday meant he took 13 wickets in one weekend. Danny Hough 45, Johnny Aktar 41 n.o. and John Wilkinson 28 n.o. had a good day against Newport but the wrong result. That now brings you upto date for the seconds, so keep the good work going fellas.

Urge to become a Nurse
The picture on the end of this story was e-mailed to me by an unnamed source. At first I thought it was a deliberate hoax to crush Spook’s street cred but after stringent tests it has proven to be legitimate. So has Speakey got a deep down urge to become a female nurse or was it just one of those drunken binges gone wrong, you be the judge.
